Hot Drinks and Hot Topics: New Schedule for 2012 Would you like to talk to your County Supervisor? Want to learn more about County Government? You are invited to meet with Supervisor Jane Parker every Monday before a Board of Supervisors meeting. In addition to reviewing interesting items from the Board agenda, she is available to talk about hot issues, discuss your concerns, and listen to your ideas and suggestions.
This year Jane will be holding her Hot Topics meetings three times a month on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Monday, rotating between cities:
Meetings are 5:30 PM-6:30 PM. We will post the schedule here on her website and issue announcements throughout the year to remind people of the rotation.
If you haven’t had a chance to attend a Hot Topics session in the past, please take this opportunity to come and learn about what the Board is working on and voice your opinion.
The first meetings of the year are as follows:
January
9th (Monday): 5:30pm at Me-N-Ed's Pizza in Seaside
23rd (Monday): 5:30pm at Portobello's in Salinas
February
13th (Monday): 5:30pm at Me-N-Ed's Pizza in Seaside
27th (Monday): 5:30pm at Portobello's in Salinas
March
12th (Monday): 5:30pm at Me-N-Ed's Pizza in Seaside
19th (Monday): 5:30pm at Mountain Mike's Pizza in Marina
26th (Monday): 5:30pm at Portobello's in Salinas There are no Hot Topics sessions scheduled for the 3rd Mondays in January or February because there are no Board of Supervisors meetings scheduled the following days. *SPECIAL GUESTS*:
Every so often Jane will invite a special guest to join her at Hot Topics meetings.

 When she took office in January 2009, Supervisor Parker committed to hosting an 'agenda review' every week prior to meetings of the Board of Supervisors. In 2009, dozens of Monterey County residents participated in this weekly discussion that was held in Marina. Each week Jane reviewed the upcoming Board agenda, commented on specific items of interest, and listened to the thoughts and priorities of residents who attended.
In 2010, Supervisor Jane Parker moved her weekly meetings to Salinas, every Monday before a Board of Supervisors meeting at the Cherry Bean Coffe House. In 2011 she will be hosting her Hot Topics meetings at Me-n-Ed's Pizza in Seaside. In addition to reviewing interesting items from the Board agenda, she will chat about local issues, discuss your concerns, and listen to your ideas and suggestions. Anyone in the County is welcome to attend and learn more about your County government.
