Supervisor Parker works closely with her staff to serve the needs of Monterey County residents.
Kristi Markey - Chief of Staff
Kristi is responsible for advising the Supervisor on issues related to land use, water, and the environment. She is the primary liaison with City Governments in District 4. Supervisor Parker states "Kristi's training as an attorney and expertise with the Brown Act, union relations, and human resources will be critical, especially during these difficult economic times."
Prior to joining Supervisor Parker's staff, Kristi was a shareholder at the law firm of Lozano Smith. She has practiced Public Agency Law for over 12 years, representing many local school districts. She currently serves as an elected board member of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District. Kristi earned her JD at Hastings College of Law and BA in English from the University of New Hampshire.
Wendy Askew - Board Aide
Wendy is responsible for advising the Supervisor on issues related to health care, social services, and public safety . Supervisor Parker "is pleased to have someone of Wendy's intelligence, interest in organizational effectiveness and passion for the community working with me."
Wendy has worked in both the non-profit and private business sectors, most recently as a small business owner of an industrial frozen fruit brokerage. She is an active community volunteer and advocate for programs and policy that support women, children and families. Wendy earned her BS in Business Administration from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
Colleen Beye - Board Aide
Colleen is responsible for advising the Supervisor on issues related to public safety and communications.
Colleen has extensive non-profit and community building experience, including a two-year term as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic. Colleen has a Masters in Public Administration from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and speaks fluent Spanish.
Lori Chappell - Office Manager
Lori is responsible for managing office administrative functions and serving as the first point of contact for people who visit, call, or email the Supervisors Office. She coordinates appointment scheduling for the Supervisor and maintains efficient systems for managing inter-office communication and information. Lori advises the Supervisor on community events and activities, with an eye towards opportunities to recognize positive things that are happening in our community. Supervisor Parker states, "Lori provides a gracious and competent welcome to the public, is thorough, detail-oriented, clearly takes great pride in her work and is a great asset to my team."
Lori studied Sociology and Organizational Communications at Chico State University. She has worked in the Real Estate industry as a Relocation Specialist, Executive Office Manager, and Mortgage Processing Agent.
